The trustees of the Louise Willgrass Tsunami
Fund (LWTF) are pleased to report that we have successfully completed two major school renovation projects in Phuket:
Our first project was completed in 2008, at Ban Ao Po School, where we built a new classroom block, a new toilet block, and installed a new water purification system
Our second project was completed in 2009, at Ban Para School, where we constructed a new nursery facility for more than sixty young children.
In addition to the achievements described above, we have also managed to do the following:
Purchase a plot of land in Phuket on which to build a brand new school in the future
Set up a 'safe house' for a limited number of Thai children who are at risk
Establish a good working relationship with the Thai education authorities
Set up a team who are based locally in Phuket, lead by Cindy Radcliffe and Ron Amos
Employ the services of builders and craftsman from within the local community, thereby helping them to support their own families, and bring benefits to the local economy.
Photos from the renovation projects are shown below, however more are available to view in our photo gallery.

Although these renovation projects have been completed, we must continue to
raise funds to help even more schools in the future. Your support and generosity is still urgently required.
